Mining Asteroids exhibit

The Museum of Flight, Seattle, set out to dig deep and tell a compelling story about rocks, a telescope, and a crazy idea.

The museum’s exhibit studio worked with local company Planetary Resources, Inc. to create a short-term, compelling and easy to consume exhibit, set within the Charles Simonyi Space Gallery, that educates it’s patrons about the who, what, why and how behind the concept of extracting useful raw materials from near-earth asteroids for use on earth, and for future space exploration. A first step is centered on the Arkyd Space Telescope to observe candidate asteroids from space.

As an integral part of the exhibits team, responsibilities included: concept development; design and layout; illustration; production; vendor management; quality control.
